Brno West Falcon Field Airport
The Březí – Falcon Field initially served as an airport for agricultural purposes in the 1970s. In 2018, Flying Academy acquired the field, transforming it into an airport and base of our flight training and maintenance operations by extending the runway, and adding the airport markings. The airport grounds are being developed sustainably, such as by utilizing solar energy, and are being remodeled for flight training purposes through extensive maintenance work. Furthermore, our approved Part-145 maintenance organization was relocated to Březí Airport.

According to the NY Times, Brno is among the top places to go for great cuisine and culture. Brno is the second largest Czech city, located in the South Moravian region. The city is famous for the medieval Spilberk Castle which dominates the city skyline, Villa Tugendhat, the icon of modernism, and the nearby natural sight Moravian Karst.
The living-costs in Brno are relatively low. It’s hard to tell the ecact numbers, but cost of accomodation and food (especially eating and drinking in cafes and restaurants) are definitely lower than in most countries.
Brno is also very popular student city. According to QS (company behind university rankings) Brno is the 6th most popular student city worldwide.
Public transport in Brno and the rest of the South Moravian Region is provided by Integrovaný dopravní systém Jihomoravského kraje IDS – JMK (the South Moravian Integrated Public Transport System).
Tickets are valid for any form of public transport, so you only need to pay attention to how long you are traveling (tickets are valid for specific amounts of time) and which zones you are travelling through. If you’re travelling through the city, a ticket for zones 100 and 101 is probably all you’ll need. You can buy tickets from any of the yellow ticket vending machines located at various stops throughout the city, or you can purchase them at information centres, stations, and newsagents.
The entire transport system is connected with several apps, including Google Maps and Mapy.cz, so feel free to use these to plan your trip.
